Movement Group Sessions

Desire2inspire are extremely passionate about Creating fun and engaging physical movement activities for a group. It is a wonderful way to promote physical fitness, social interaction, and overall well-being.

Physical Health

Regular physical activity helps improve and maintain physical health. It can increase muscle strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness. For NDIS participants who may have physical disabilities or health conditions, staying physically active can help prevent secondary health issues and improve overall well-being.

1.

Mental Health

Physical activity has been shown to have a positive impact on mental health. It can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, boost mood, and enhance overall emotional well-being. This is particularly important for NDIS participants who may be dealing with the challenges of living with a disability.

2.

Social Interaction

Participating in physical activities often involves social interaction. Group activities or sports can provide opportunities for NDIS participants to connect with others, build friendships, and develop a sense of belonging. This can help combat feelings of isolation and loneliness that some individuals with disabilities may experience.

3.

Skill Development:

Engaging in physical activities can help NDIS participants develop and refine physical skills. This is important for individuals who may be working on improving their mobility, coordination, or balance as part of their rehabilitation or therapy plan.

4.

Independence

Physical movement can promote greater independence for NDIS participants. By improving physical abilities, individuals may be better able to perform daily tasks and activities on their own, reducing their reliance on caregivers or support services.

5.

Quality of Life

Overall, regular physical activity can enhance the quality of life for NDIS participants. It can lead to greater satisfaction with life, increased energy levels, and a greater sense of accomplishment.

6.

Adapted Sports

Modify traditional sports like soccer, basketball, or tennis to suit the abilities and interests of the group. We use softer balls, larger hoops, or lower nets to make the game more accessible.

7.

Obstacle Courses

Setting up an obstacle course with cones, hula hoops, tunnels, and other equipment. Participants can navigate through the course at their own pace.

8.

Scavenger Hunts

Create a scavenger hunt in a local park or indoors if needed. This combines physical activity with problem-solving and teamwork.

9.

Balloon Volleyball

We Play volleyball using balloons instead of traditional balls. This is a fun and safe way to get everyone moving.

10.

Fitness Challenges

Set up friendly fitness challenges, like who can do the most jumping jacks in a minute or hold a plank the longest. Keep score and celebrate achievements. We are all capable of achieving our own unique goals. There is no comparison to each other just celebrating each individual achievements.

11.

Adaptive Swimming

When possible we encourage adaptive swimming sessions. Swimming is a low-impact activity that can benefit individuals with various disabilities.
