In-home Care
In-home care services provided under the NDIS can vary depending on an individual’s specific needs and goals. These services are designed to help people with disabilities live independently in their homes and communities, maintain their health and well-being, and achieve their personal objectives. Here are some common in-home care services that may be covered by the NDIS:
Personal Care
Assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Domestic Assistance
Help with household tasks like cleaning, cooking, laundry, and grocery shopping.
Social and Community Participation
Support for individuals to engage in social and community activities, including transportation assistance.
Respite Care
Temporary relief for family members or primary caregivers to take a break from their caregiving responsibilities.
In-home Care
To access in-home care services through the NDIS, individuals must meet specific eligibility criteria and complete an application process. Eligibility for the NDIS is typically determined by factors such as age, residency status, the nature and impact of the disability, and functional impairments. Once approved, participants work with an NDIS planner or support coordinator to create a personalized plan that outlines their goals and the necessary supports and services.
