STRIDE WITH POLES AT TUNNUM SANDS BEACH

Striding with poles is a low impact total body exercise. It is a fitness technique similar to hiking and cross country skiing. Walking poles are used to propel you along using the power of your upper body and legs. Pole walking uses a massive amount of power from the whole upper body engaging over 90% of the body’s muscles and burning over 40% more calories than regular walking. Striding with poles can be enjoyed on all levels from low to high intensity, It combines core and upper body conditioning resulting in a full body workout.

What is Stride More Stress Less?

Stride More Stress Less was created in Tannum Sands Qld by Shelly Strange. Incorporating physical movement with mindset strategies. Shelly is very passionate about helping people get physically moving while working on mindset to fast track result. Shelly wants to support people one step at a time to live a Happier life TODAY no matter their current circumstances. Happiness + Balance = Results

Why the poles?

Simply put: “It’s better on poles”. Why? Because you create a Total Body Walking action, activating 90% of the muscles in your body to achieve more optimal gains with less pain/strain and also in less time compared to normal walking, jogging or cycling.

How fit do you have to be to start?

You can participate at a level that suits your own pace and ability whilst achieving more gain with reduced impact of pain & strain. Shelly will use special techniques to cater for all fitness levels.

“Get to the back bus” is one fun way to allow striders to work as hard or easy as they desire. When the whistle blows the front striders turn and stride back behind the last strider. Giving them the determination to push forward and stride to front again and allowing back striders to keep going forward at their own pace without any pressure of trying to Keep up. Most striders wear their own watch and track their own results to achieve individual goals.

What age can stride?

We currently have Striders from 16yrs to 70yrs old. We can cater for younger or older. There is a pre-screening form to be filled out and if any injury or medical condition may need a doctors clearance to participate in physical activity.

What is the mindset all about?

Shelly has a life coaching qualification and has spent over 15 years studying and personally trying and testing 1000s of techniques to handle stress better and perform at your peek when under pressure.

She has worked with sporting teams, individual people, Business teams, construction sites with suicide prevention, human performance training through Rio Tinto, Reiki, NLP, EFT, Personality insights, Body Language, Hypnosis, breaking through to success program, just to name a few. Shelly has created a program that is basic, effective and supports people every step way to be happy NOW.

What do I need to bring?

In the beginners program you just need to arrive with comfortable training clothes, correct closed in shoes, hat (if you like to wear one) , water bottle. The poles are supplied, and Shelly starts you off with One on One fundamentals of walking with poles before your 1st stride. Once you start and if you like it, you can purchase poles through Desire 2 Inspire.
